Further explaining that the trick is “They listen and solicit views but do not default to consensus-driven decision making.” HBR further explains how to be a leader for a big team such as global company, “A key practice here is setting realistic expectations up front.” This means making the team know what their position and duties are in the first place and developing a working timetable with them. “Boards and investors love a steady hand, and employees trust predictable leaders.”
How to take over a new team
This is pretty straightforward but may be hard to do in real life. Be present, be connected and show the team you mean to forge a path together. In order to show the team that you have excellent team leader skills, you must let people express their emotions. Make it safe for them to say what’s really going on for them, according to Forbes.
