Many Solopreneurs mistake busyness with productivity. I can not tell you how many times I have worked from sun up and sun down and at the end of the day wonder what happen? What did I actually accomplish? Or I may have a to-do list with 20+ items on it and I begin my day by tackling the easiest items first.
I am sure that this has only happen to me…or maybe it has happen to someone very close to you. So, how do you make sure that you are spending your day on the highest income producing activities? It is very simple. I would recommend that you create a list of the top 5 no more than 6 things that you must get done today. These are the things that are going to move your business forward. Why 5 items? Because this is a manageable number which will keep you out of overwhelm. Now keep in mind, that some of the things you may not complete because they are a project. For example, when I was writing my book, The Juggling Act – A Step by Step Guide for Balancing Your Business and Your Life, I knew that it would take me more than one day to write a book. So each day I had actionable steps that got me closer to the end results.
